Please share your decision to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor with your family
About Us
Mission Statement
The mission of the Utah Donor Registry is to
1) ensure that all those who want to donate can document their wishes, and
2) provide educational materials on the benefits of organ, eye, tissue, and living donation.
Who We Are
The Utah Donor Registry is managed by Intermountain Donor Services (IDS) of Utah. IDS is the federally designated non-profit organ procurement organization (OPO) that serves Utah, southeastern Idaho, and western Wyoming. Funding for organ recovery activities is derived from standard acquisition fees charged to the transplant centers receiving the organs. These acquisition fees include expenses for surgeons, compatibility testing, transportation, donor hospitals, and clinical coordinators. IDS bills the transplant center, which, in turn, bills the recipient and their health insurance. Funding for tissue recovery activities is derived from standard fees charged to the tissue processing agency, which, in turn, bills the physicians and hospitals utilizing these tissues.
The registry coordinates with the Utah Driver License Division and the Utah Lions Eye Bank to document and carry out each individual's wishes.
